Following a successful application we have now been awarded Recognised School Status by the Council for Dance Education & Training. This ensures that we meet high standards of quality and service. This is the first stage in the development of a national standard for dance schools and I am thrilled to announce that we are the FIRST school in Tyne & Wear to be awarded this status.
It ensures that we meet specified standards of health & safety, equal opportunities, customer service and staff development policies. We must also ensure valid enhanced Criminal Records Bureau disclosure is in place for all our members of staff, issue all our staff with contracts of employment and appraise them annually. All teachers must hold recognised teaching qualifications or actively be working towards them. We must also adhere to the CDET's Code of Professional Conduct for Teachers of Dance, be fully insured and hold formal accounts.
This is a huge achievement for Prima as it confirms our place amongst the best dancing schools in England.
