Children can begin Cheer at aged 3 and the main attraction is of course the pom poms! The Dinky Squad (age 3-5) learn chants, star jumps and other basic cheer moves with not too much attention on technique at this stage. The classes are energetic and enjoyable, with even a few games thrown in to inspire the children. The children in this class prepare for the Uni-Ted awards - these are adorable plaques featuring a teddy bear holding a bunch of balloons (the children collect the balloons to attach to the plaque earning one for each exam taken). They also collect Uni-Ted stickers at each lesson.

The Red and Purple Squads learn Cheer technique and Majorettes, both of which came to the UK from America where they are extremely popular. The children shake their pom poms, chant and cheer. The classes are energetic, they are good for rhythm and excellent for improving presentation skills. Majorettes is a fantastic art form, originating from marching bands. The children learn the secret of twirling their batons which is a great crowd pleaser and will have the audience clapping and cheering!

Children have the opportunity to take part in National Competitions for Cheerleading.
