Thursday Uniform
We
are now implementing the following uniform for all Thursday evening ballet
classes held in the dance studio. I ask that all students adhere as soon as
possible and no later than Easter 2010. The ‘optional’ items are purely
optional and there is no obligation whatsoever:
§
Black leotard – any design but the uniform leotard will be required
for exams
§
Pink ballet tights
§
Short black wrap
skirt (optional)
§
Pink demi-pointe
shoes aka ‘soft blocks’ (excellent
for improving balance and foot strength) – compulsory for students who have
passed Intermediate Foundation; recommended for students Grade 5 and above;
optional for students in Grade 4; not permitted for Grade 3 students except
in the pointe strengthening class when they may be worn. Up to Grade 5 any pink
ballet shoes may be worn instead, satin/canvas/leather are all acceptable.

Pink pointe shoes – strictly by invitation only
§
Warm-ups – sweatshirts may be worn for the warm-up, legwarmers
may be worn to the end of barre, ballet crossover cardigans may be worn
throughout if needed. No other tops/shorts/accessories may be worn.
§
Hair – should be styled in a neat bun
§
(Bare feet required for Modern Jazz)
We
now stock a selection of black leotards, please ask reception if they are not
on display.
