Washington & Sunderland, Tyne & Wear, UK. Classes for children aged 1½+ and adults
It is important to call or e-mail to book your first lesson as some classes may be full, you can leave a message if you can't get in touch with Clare but please leave a contact number in case there is any problem.
For the first few lessons, all you need is comfortable clothes (shorts, t-shirt etc), bare feet for Ballet, Modern Theatre and Scottish National, and trainers for Musical Theatre, Cheerleading, Pop Starz and Street Jazz - please do not buy anything especially for the first lesson. You will given a uniform list at the first class and we generally expect children to have the full uniform within one term; most items can be purchased from Prima.
We understand that parents may
prefer to stay and watch the first class.
This is acceptable for younger students but they should bear in mind
that it can sometimes be best if the parent leaves the studio so that all
distractions are taken away. We
leave it up to the parent to decide the best course of action in each individual
case. If you do decide to stay and
watch the first lesson, please turn off your mobile phone and sit quietly.
Parents of children under the age of 2 are required to join in with the
Wednesday Tiny Tots class, this remains optional in this class for children
aged 2+. Other than that parents are required to wait in a designated area
although allowances can be made for any children having difficulty settling in.
Enrolment
After your first class, you will be given a
welcome pack and an invoice with two payment slips attached. The first covers
classes for the next 2 weeks, as an extended trial. After that trial period you
can use the second payment slip to pay for classes remaining in that billing
period and there is also an enrolment fee. The enrolment fee for all classes
(except pay-as-you-dance classes) is £6 and as part of this you will receive a
gymsac with name tag and a Prima pen. The enrolment fee is a one-off payment, you don’t need to pay it
every year or when you move up to the next class.
If you decide to continue with the classes you
will need to pay your invoices by the dates specified and also hand in an
enrolment form. Classes are payable half-termly in advance (usually lasting 5-7
weeks).
Please note, no enrolment fee is payable for students who only attend Street Jazz/Adult Tap/Bollywood Workout and these classes are paid for on a ‘pay-as-you-dance’ basis.
If you attend 3 or more classes per week you will automatically receive a 15% discount off your bill.
We
also have a Scholar Programme for students committed to taking a lot of classes
and this offers discounts in excess of 30%. Please click here for further details.
